Founded in 1992 in Niigata, Aqua Design Amano has shared the beauty of the Nature Aquarium with enthusiasts across Japan and around the world. Its founder, Takashi Amano, traveled globally to photograph natural landscapes and cultural heritage, expressing deep respect for nature while helping to raise environmental awareness. He also introduced the natural beauty of Niigata—the birthplace of the Nature Aquarium—to the world, inspiring aquarists from around the globe to visit, learn directly from him, and experience the philosophy of the Nature Aquarium: “Learn from Nature, Create Nature.”

Carrying this vision forward, CELESTA was born. The name CELESTA is inspired by the Latin word caelestis, meaning “heavenly.” It also echoes the name of Takashi Amano whose surname Amano (天野) translates to “heavenly field” in Japanese.
